Another night of broken sleep. Had to make 2 visits to the loo in the dead of night. Glad I ventured out as I got a stunning view of Kibo in the moon light. We got up around 7:00am and left Shira Camp 2. Noy long after leaving camp I started to feel fairly bad. Maurice had had a bout of the ballymuns that morning so we most likely had something similar!

Kibo by morning light, just before we set off for Lava Tower All the gang, not long after we left Shira Camp 2...pole pole Half way to Lava Tower

By mid-day I was completely and utterly drained. Our guide Richard kept a close eye on my and sorted out some dioralite. We contined walking very slowly towards Lava Tower. It started to rain lightly as we arrive at Lava Tower for our lunch.

I was only able to eat a biscuit for lunch at Lava Tower, as small mice scurried around our feet looking for scraps! We left Lava Tower and began our decent to Baranco Camp. Today was a climb high sleep low day, as Lava Tower was around 4600m, however Baranco camp is around 3900m.

Alien flora at Baranco Camp Baranco Camp, with part of the infamous wall visible in the background Feeling better, better weather, all good!

I started to feel much better as we beat a quick pace towards Baranco. The weathr cleared a bit and by the time we had reached camp it was lovely and sunny, and we got a great view of the valley. We stayed up till arounf 8:30pm. Our evening now consisting of dinner in the mess tent, and our health check with Richard to see if we are all still alive!!
